Defining moments in life?

do you believe you are you because of things that happened to you or do you think you make your own destiny? do you beleive everything is preordained?

I agree. I believe that our destiny is constantly being "edited" and rewritten. Focus is the most important aspect in the manifestation of your destiny, whatever it may be. I've read many autobiographies of people "sort of just falling into something" and then they become the best in the world at it.

The question is are these people born to do that something, or did they buckle down, focus, and keep their eye on bettering themselves?

I believe that alot of factors make you who you are.  Personal choices, environment, family beliefs, religion,.....etc.  Do you think Osama Bin Ladin would be who he is today if he were brought  up as an American Catholic?   Would GWB be president if he were brought up in poverty in a slum of a big city?    It could still be possible but highly unlikely.

We won't know if we were preordained until we get to meet God.  I do believe things happen for a reason and may  guide you but we do have a "free will" and have to make the best or worst of what we are faced with.  So, I think a little of both.
