  1. The weight of the atmosphere over a particular point, also called barometric pressure. Average air exerts approximately 14.7 pounds (6.8 kg) of force on every square inch (or 101,325 newtons on every square meter) at sea level.

    Advice:

    To get any definition

    1- Go to www.google.com

2- Type " define : " then that thing you want to define in your case "Air Pressure"

3-It will look like this " define :Air Pressure "

    This is the link

  2. These people are only speaking of atmospheric pressure. Air pressure is simply the force exerted in all directions from a gas due to the thermal energy of the gas, the effects of gravity on the gas or from the density of the gas particles, which can be increased through using an air compressor.

  3. Air pressure is the weight of a column of air over an area.  That is, p = W/A.

The weight W = rho(H) V; where rho(H) is air density at given heights H above sea level and V is the volumn of air contained in the column whose footprint area is A.  Therefore p = rho(H)AH/A = Int(rho(H)dH) which is the integral of rho(H)dH over the height (h = 0 to H) of the column.  Notice the footprint area A cancels out; so only the height and density related to height are factors in the pressure determination.

  4. Air pressure is the force exerted by the weight of tiny particles of air. The lower your elevation (closer to sea level) the thicker that blanket of air above you is, and just like a blanket made of cloth, this blanket of air is heavier where it is thickest.
