I need a good thorough definition for fear of shame for an english essay. Want to use it intro paragraph. Due Tommorow so please help.

  1. Shame is feared by pretty much everyone, so unless you are talking about the psychological condition (phobia), I would use words like: stigma, reproach, abashment or chagrin.

    Verb

        * S: (v) humiliate, mortify, chagrin, humble, abase (cause to feel shame; hurt the pride of) "He humiliated his colleague by criticising him in front of the boss"
