Tottenham Hotspur striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 to join former boss Harry Redknapp, and insists that he wants to stay at White Hart Lane for good.
The striker has been in fine form this season, and is Tottenham’s leading goal-scorer with 7 goals in 14 league appearances, and has rediscovered his form after a mixed season last term.
Defoe had primarily been used as a sub under Redknapp last season, but still managed to score goals and was able to make an impact whenever he was called to action. The player was however not happy with his role at the club, and admitted in the summer that
he may have to leave White Hart Lane in search for more playing time.
There had been talk linking him with a move to Loftus Road, especially with QPR signing so many veteran and experienced players. However, new manager Andre Villas-Boas insisted that he was not willing to let the Englishman leave, and assured him that he
remained a major part of his plans for the club.
Now, the player is not looking to leave, and says that he will not be joining Redknapp at QPR in the January transfer window. Redknapp had been axed by Spurs in the summer and was appointed at Loftus Road following the dismissal of Harry Redknapp. QPR currently
lie at the bottom of the league table, winless in all 14 games.
Defoe insisted that he is not tempted by a move to the Hoops, and said:
"That's not going to happen. I'm not leaving Tottenham, I love the club and to score goals at a big club like this is fantastic. If the opportunity comes to leave the club it won't be happening. I don't want to leave, I'm a Spurs player - and I'm happy.”
"I'd like to finish my career at Tottenham. I want to achieve something special here - it's a great time to be at the club."
Tottenham travel to Craven Cottage this weekend, and will welcome http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 back in the team after his 3-game suspension comes to an end. However, it will be interesting to see who AVB starts up front for the team.
