Deformed axolotl need help

Question

hi i have had my axolotl for 3 years now

she has one arm that looks like a hook (1 finger)

i thought that it had been bitten off but it has not grown back yet

could it be a birth defect

if she was like that when you got her, then yeah, its probably a birth defect, but axolotl have very very specific requirements, so if they haven't been stuck to, she may not have healed properly.  

there must be a website about them... try axolotl.com or something- it'll tell you all you need to know!

they prefer cooler temperatures to heal in- how warm is her water?

if she's swimming and eating ok, then there's no cause for concern
