Defrosting bagels quickly

hello i really need to eat a bagel. i have just taken some out of the freezer but i need to defrost them quickly. is it safe to put them in the oven for a bit till they are soft and then toast them?

Wrap them up in paper towel and microwave them on defrost for a minute or so.

I'd put them in the microwave on "defrost", but be careful not to over warm them, they will get rubbery.

I don't have a microwave either. I have a toaster oven and just throw my frozen bagels in frozen - basically, they defrost then they toast. I do this with all kinds of sliced breads, english muffins, pastries, etc. I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing with frozen bagels straight into a regular toaster. Just keep your eyes on it so it doesn't burn.
