Degree about teaching?

to be an elementary school teacher a bachelor's is required. but to start off, can i get an associate's in early childhood education and then work my way up?

  1. You could, but you won't get hired as an elementary school teacher until you get your bachelor's in Elem. Ed.  You could however, get teaching experience by doing this.  They will hire you to Sub, tutor or even be an aide with your associate's.  They may even need a preschool or headstart teacher in the school.

      The best thing to do is to meet with a college councilor and make sure your associate's classes will count towards your bachelor's degree or transfer if you are getting them from different colleges.  They might tell you to just go for your bachelor's depending on what your overall goal is because you can sub, tutor and be an aide by taking a certain amount of credits in the education field.  Good Luck!
