  1. I would definately go with person who has on the job experience. Experience is invaluable. I used to work for a large company, well known world wide, and they would hire kids right out of college to manage departments. These kids knew nothing about what we REALLY did. And for some of them this was their FIRST JOB ever! I think promote within or hire with EXPERIENCE.

  2. i would give the job to  the person who has experience  bcoz it cannot b subistituted with a degree holder .Degree can only give u a scripted knowledge but experience is the only thing which matters.

  3. Depends, I'd still want to interview them, though I'd tend towards the experienced person, particularly if they got a good reference from previous employer.

Degree's only really necessary (in a practical sense) if you really need the information/knowledge to do the job (teacher, scientist etc).

  4. depends on the job position.

if its a labor job, I would want experience, because then he is used to the physical hardship.

if its a highly technical job i would definately want a degree over experience. only exception I would make is if he is highly intelligent and learned on his own.

secretaries and other job positions which usually do not require a degree can go either way depending on her tasks.

you probably don't want a engineer or a scientist who doesn;t have some sort of degree.
