Question:

Deja Vu???

I get deja vu experiences all the time. Like at least three times in two weeks or so.

If I go to some place, I feel like I've been there. If I'm talking to some friends I feel like the same exact thing has happened before when it's really happening for the first time.

MY questions are:

1. Is this normal? It's not like once in a month or so. It's 3-4 times in a fortnight.

2. What does all this actually mean?

3. How does deja vu happen?

4. If I go to a certain place like I said b4 I feel like I've been there but I'm really going for the 1st time. Why does that happen?

5. Is it connected to our past lives or something?

Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Paramnesia or Deja Vu is normal. I've had lots of episodes in my life that seems to have happen to me before. This is our unconscious self showing us how well we know our self. In effect the feeling of Deja Vu is simply us doing the routine we typically do....

  2. One of the most accepted theories is that deja vu is essentially a glitch in your memory system. We have both long term and short term memory and they are processed separately. The idea is that your short term has a little lapse and your long term memory has already absorbed what is going on. Here's a link to Wiki; they explain it better, and there are other links there.

However much I read about it though, the unnerving sensation remains unchanged!
