The Croatian international has been constantly linked with a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 but says that he is happy at Stade de Gerland for now
Croatian international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dejan-Lovren-c10779 was sidelined due to injury during Olympique Lyonnais’ final few games of the 2011/2012 campaign. The injury also ended the youngster’s hopes of representing his country at the European Championships.
However, his injuries have not done any harm to his European profile. Several clubs in Europe have been impressed by the youngster’s consistent performances in the defence for Les Gones including La Liga giants Barcelona FC who are always in the hunt for
a replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331.
Though interest from such a prestigious club can turn any one’s head, the same cannot be said of Lovren. The Croatian is aware of the Catalan club’s interest in him but says that he still has a lot to prove at Lyon and feels that winning just one trophy
with the seven-time Ligue 1 champions is not enough for him.
“I am at OL. I think I’ll stay. I feel like this and it also depends on the club. Anything can happen in football. Barcelona? It’s just talk, nothing concrete. But it’s nice. I want to show even more that I already did. I can still do better. I want to win
more trophies. One title with OL is not enough,” said Lovren while talking to the club’s official website.
Certainly, it is great news for Lyon who are not really willing to let go of one of their best players from last season.
Yesterday, Jean-Michel Aulas claimed that Brazilian defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cris-c9486 was guilty of having hindered the development of young defensive duo Kone and Lovren which clearly demonstrate the Croatian’s importance at the Rhone club.
The 23-year-old arrived at Lyon from Dinamo Zagreb in the January transfer window of 2010. After a low profile start to his Lyon career, the player has become an integral part of Remi Garde’s starting XI.
And, Lovren feels that he has changed a lot since he arrive at Stade de Gerland.
“Life goes fast. You see, I was 20 when I arrived at OL.”
The youngster just turned 23 and looks set to celebrate his 24th birthday at Lyon.
