The Spanish national team’s coach has openly admitted that none of his players are ‘theatrical’, as labelled by the Portuguese centre-back, Pepe.
The Barcelona midfielder, Andres Iniesta, and the Real Madrid centre-back, Pepe, have recently been involved in a war of words.
It all happened after the game between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The two teams faced each other over the past weekend and since El Clasico is considered to be a tough fixture for both the teams and it ended in a 2-2 draw, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 still have an eight-point lead and Real Madrid are definitely not happy with the result.
Right after the game, Pepe made a comment and accused the Barcelona players of play-acting.
It all happened because Andres Iniesta took a fall inside the penalty area and the referee blew the whistle for a free-kick.
Later, the replays revealed that there was minimum contact between Pepe and Andres Iniesta and the Spaniard took a fall inside the penalty area.
However, Pepe believes that the Spanish midfielder was play-acting and labelled all the Barcelona players as ‘theatrical’.
While replying to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670, Iniesta stated that it is hurtful how he is accusing him and his team-mates of such a thing and also pointed out Pepe’s play-acting incidents.
Pepe then replied that his statement was only hurtful because it carried truth and most recently Andres Iniesta again made a statement regarding Pepe’s own diving skills.
The Spanish national team’s coach defended Andres Iniesta and openly stated that any player performing in his team is not theatrical.
The Spaniard was quoted as saying:
“These players do not know theatre. Here everyone wants to be the purest and cleanest. Anyway, the players are focused on the match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belarus-c2849, that's what's important right now.”
Moreover, Del Bosque also spoke about Andres Iniesta’s availability in the Spanish team as he is currently not 100% fit.
The Spanish team’s coach said that even though the Spanish midfielder is not performing at his best, he will still play both the FIFA World Cup 2014’s qualifying games for the Spanish national team.
“Iniesta is a specific case, he could play both games perfectly, but we will focus. We have players on the roster who can replace him, but he will almost certainly play both games.”
