The veteran tactician has taken out time to voice his opinion regarding coaching players at club international level, claiming that they are two different aspects of the sport.
Spanish national head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 del Bosque, has expressed that it is easy to develop understanding with players while coaching a football club in comparison to coaching an international side.
According to the Spaniard, club managers are allowed the privilege to interact with their players on a daily basis which help them establish a good relationship with them. In addition, he also observed that a club manager has more time to his disposal in
terms of coaching the players.
Del Bosque argued that being the head coach of an international team allows him little time to deal properly with his players. Furthermore, he stressed that having to talk to players during 16 games is different from having them for around 50 games.
The 61-year-old then went on to discuss the several problems that he comes across during the international break. He asserted that it become extensively difficult to cope with the different temperaments of the athletes that he has to manage.
While talking to reporters, the former Los Blancos coach stated:
“The difference between club and country work? We’ve played 16 games this year and, when you compare that to the 50-odd matches that clubs play, it’s a pretty conclusive piece of data. At club level you have day-to-day contact that enables you to gradually
improve certain areas of your team. At international level you get less time to work. At a club you get to work with the players more, but there could also be more conflict. Here with the national team that’s less likely.
“You might get the odd disappointed face because someone didn’t get a game or someone else might lose their temper, but you don’t get that daily interaction that makes your life really difficult. Those are the biggest differences.”
The veteran trainer is considered one of the most successful coaches in the history of Spanish football. Not only has the manager achieved great success on the international stage, he has also done the same on club level.
