The veteran tactician has revealed several aspects of the recently passed European Championship, shedding light on a number of things regarding La Roja.
Spanish national team's head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 del Bosque, has taken out time to talk about a number of matters regarding the team, offering his perspective on all of these things.
The former Real Madrid manager started the discussion by revealing his admiration for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011’s top performers in the Euro 2012 and was observed as a rising star.
The newly signed Barca player was one of the scorers for the European champions in the final of the prestigious tournament.
The Spanish mentor also stated that Alba became a little uneasy when the coach praised him.
While giving an interview to Punto Pelota, Del Bosque was quoted as saying:
"I told Alba that he would be the best full-back at the Euros, and he looked at me as if to say: 'What are you talking about?'"
The 61-year-old then moved the discussion to the fact that the Spanish national side is dominated with players from Real Madrid and Barcelona. The veteran downplayed rumours about disparity and rivalry in the Spanish dressing room at once.
"In our midfield we have many Barca boys. There is no division between Barcelona and Madrid. This is Spain."
The mentor then made time to comment on the ‘false nine’ tactics adopted by his side. Del Bosque used this system because it suited well with the Reds, according to the former Los Blancos coach.
The tactics adopted by the World champions were without a specific player at the forward position. The striker-less formation had Cesc Fabregas playing up front, but also dropping back in the centre whenever there was need.
The Reds’ tactician stressed that such tactics were important due to the absence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 from the side.
"Villa is used to playing on the left, rather than in the centre. In the tournament, it depended on the match, on whether we wanted a reference point up front, or a man who links up better, like Fabregas.”
Having led Spain to a FIFA World Cup triumph and the successful defence of their European title, Del Bosque is considered one of the best managers in the world.
