The veteran tactician has taken out time to jump to the defence of the left-footed striker, emphasizing that he still needs time to completely recover from his broken leg.

He stressed that even though the player is making time, he can still aggravate the injury he suffered last season and therefore he must be handled with caution. The veteran trainer also expressed that Tito Vilanova is taking care of matters brilliantly and
he is using the forward in an ideal manner.
According to Del Bosque, David Villa can only play for Barca on sparse occasions until his injury problems are completely behind him. He added that the footballer is a great asset for Spanish football and hence he must be taken care of.
Villa broke his tibia last December while playing for the Catalan giants in the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan. Although the Nou Camp outfit returned as winners from the tournament, their primary forward had suffered an extensive injury.
