Cup tie against Italian Champions, A.C Milan, on August 21, 2011.

Del Piero is hoping for an epic encounter with the Rossoneri and believes that the tie could
not have come at a better time , as the Serie A season is also set to commence next week.
The 36-year-old believes that even though it is a friendly game but the fans and players rate
it so highly because of its tradition.
Talking to the reporters Del Piero said, “There is a week to go before the start of the season and it seems as if the summer of 2011 has chosen to reserve its hottest weather for the days
leading into the official campaign. For as long as I have been at Juventus, this phase has been marked by an appointment that is almost as traditional as the season itself, even if it is only a friendly. I am talking about the Trofeo Berlusconi, which we play
at San Siro against Milan.”
The striker is pleased with his team’s preparations for the new season and is confident that they will perform better this time around. He hailed the strength of the squad and believes that
the summer signings will play a huge role in their season.
“We did well in pre-season, training hard and building a new squad with great promise."
