Ok there are 3 del sol models, the first 2 come with a d series sohc motor, the last (and rarest) comes with a dohc B motor, b16 i believe. I have a B18 LS I want to put in, soon to be an Ls/vtec, but if I end up with a del sol that has a stock D series, how hard will it be to do this? Am I gonna need engine mounts and the whole 9? And if I end up with the b series by some miracle, will my b18 drop right in or not?

  1. well if u get the sol with the d sries motor,

then u will need, axles, tranny, mounts, shift linkage, throttle cable. and non vtec ecu.

if u get the one with the b series then it bolts right on. but u will need a non vtec ecu so codes not necessary will erase.

  2. I'm changing my answer.. heh heh..

You don't have the full engine code listed, I don't think.

There's a million different combinations of Honda swaps.  Most work, some easily, some not so much, and some not at all without custom $#!T.

It depends if your donor car and source engine are USDM or JDM...   and it depends what year... etc...

The easiest, most efficient and most bang for your buck direct swap is to get a 96-98 b18c1 USDM Integra GSR (Or any integra engine from 96 - 96) motor and put it into a 97 Del Sol.

The engine mounts will work...  but you will need the tranny from the engine.
