Delay due to plane issues: Chicago Blackhawks not up for complaining-NHL News
The Chicago Blackhawks have played down chances of any controversy possibly arising out of their half-day delayed arrival back home after their road game Phoenix Coyotes due to some plane issues.
As of the latest, Blackhawks’ captain, Jonathan Toews, said they were not going to complain about the issue, as the delayed arrival has not affected their plans for the next home tie against Coyotes, on Monday, April 23, 2012.
He said:
"Not much you can do about it.”
Toews added:
“We're not going to complain about that stuff. It's not the end of the world. We'll be in our beds tonight and in our own building and in front of our own fans tomorrow. That's the most important thing."
There is no further information on the exact nature of the issues they had to face due to the delay.
According to the captain, no one was annoyed over the delayed departure and they had good time together while watching playoff game at the hotel.
His views were backed by defenseman, Brent Seabrook, who, too, said to have had good time while hanging around during the affected time.
Seabrook said:
"All the guys were upbeat. We were hanging out downstairs having lunch together. It's not a bad thing. It's good to be around the guys at this time of year, a little team building. It was good."
Blackhawks’ coach, Joel Quenneville, said to have accepted the reality, saying there was nothing much they could do about it.
Quenneville said:
"Just have to roll with it. In the course of a year or a couple years you're going to run into those types of things. You just deal with it."
After arriving in evening, Toews messaged to be ok with the situation and said he was heading to rest and get ready for the next game.
Blackhawks are facing Coyotes in Game 6 of the Western Conference playoff quarterfinals series. The terms between the two teams have recently deteriorated to some extent pertaining to some rough plays from players from both sides.
