Question:

Delete Google Desktop web history?

Does anyone know how to delete the web history for Google Desktop (on Vista)?

In XP all you have to do is open the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\application data\Google\Google Desktop\some alphanumeric code (12 digits)

and delete everything which doesn't start with sidebar_

However, I am trying to help a friend do this on his Vista machine (remotely) and we cannot find the path where all of the search data is stored.

  1. Download CCleaner a free program. it cleans all history files. I use it all the time and it is free.
