Deleted camera picture retrieval?

please help!! i am on a trip currently and when i was checking my camera to see how much space i had left i accidentally press format! is there any way i can get these pictures back i read somewhere that if you take the memory card out and put it in another camera the pictures will still be there

p.s camera is canon sd750

Did you erase them from the camera or just change them? If you erased them, there is no way to get them back, sorry.

Do NOT take any more photos on this card, you might overwrite your missing photos. Do NOT reformat it again. Do NOT put it in another camera (it might think it needs to be formatted again).

You should use other cards until you have a chance to try and recover your missing photos.
