Question:

Deleted rear cats?

I heard that if I would delete my rear cats I would improve the power/acceleration of my car.

So I'm going to do it. But for what is it, if it makes the car slower. I mean there has to be a reason why the rear cat was installed by stock, right?

  1. The cat converter was installed so your car does NOT pollute.

Modern cat converts are very effecient. So that is really an old trick that really doesn't help much (at all).

My 94 Civic can get 41 MPG (at 72 mph).  That's pretty efficient.  And it's only gotten better / more efficient.

    Good Luck...

  2. yea the only reason why they put cats on cars no days is to reduce noise, emissions, and some times power if you take off all your cats and run just a cherry bomb or flowmaster it will sound really good and ppl might tell you its against the law but i dont cats on any of my vehicals i dont like cats they serv no purpose for me so yea get rid of them cats lol
