I'm trying to delete an account that I no longer use, but it has programs installed on it. Some of the programs are also on my other user account and I use them frequently. If I delete the old account with the programs on it, will the programs on my account be deleted as well?

  1. 99% of programs install in the "all users" folder.  The only software you might lose from removing a user account is expensive licensed software that installs to a specific user.  You can tell what you'll lose by going to "my computer".  Click into your system hard drive (usually c).  Go to C:\Documents and Settings\ and then the name of the user you want to delete.  Check the Start Menu Programs and maybe desktop to see if there is anything important.  If there's nothing important or if it also exists in "all users", you will be ok to delete that user.

  2. no programs are installed to "program files" and should not be deleted if you remove a account

The only problems you may have is that licence data may be kept on that account , if you can open them in the other account you should be ok

  3. No,

your computer makes a copy of the programme for both accounts so you can both use them.

only the one on the account to be deleted will be removed.

    hope this helps
