Deleting search history - clear history box greyed out in Internet options!?

Any ideas?

Yahoo help says to click on settings or pencil icon in the toolbar. I don't have the first and clicking the pencil just gives a blank screen.

Going to Tools, Internet Options, is poss but then the history section is greyed out.

You need to clear or disable Auto Complete. This saves all previous searches in your search bar. Here's how to fix the problem:

For Internet Explorer: Click on Tools. Then Internet Options. Click on Content and then Auto Complete. Then click on Clear Forms. This will erase your search history. If you don't want things showing up again in your search history then deselect the Auto Complete options at the top. Be sure to select apply or ok at the bottom.

Perhaps the Clear History is grayed out because you already cleared it out. Try what I suggested it should clear the search history in your search engine.
