Delft keen to make successful reappearance at Lingfield - Betfred Bonus King Bingo Handicap
Lack of practice seems to be the only issue for Delft, who is making her seasonal debut at Lingfield on Tuesday, May 29th. Jeremy Noseda’s 3-year-old will show her magic in the Betfred Bonus King Bingo Handicap, scheduled
to begin at 16:20 GMT.
Delft was quite decent last season. After making a fine debut at Kempton, she travelled to Wolverhampton, where she did a fantastic job to win the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes (Div II).
After opening her account, the filly continued her good run and demonstrated a fabulous performance at Lingfield in December last year. Under John Fahy, she did nothing wrong, but luck was not on her side that day.
On a similar surface, the filly missed the top position by a neck’s distance in the Betfred When Both Teams Score Novice Stakes. After a long lay-off, the maverick filly is making her comeback with a lot of energy and will not
let things to work against her favour this time around.
She is going to face plenty of dangerous runners. Her opposition comprises of Dark Falcon, One More Roman, Strathnaver, Flavius Victor, Incendiary, Manomine, Fortrose Academy, City Dazzler, Flamborough Breeze, Lionrock, Fugitive
Motel and Light Burst. The contestants will run for a purse worth £2,386.
Dark Falcon can be an alternative, but we are reluctant to recommend him. The bay and brown colt failed to make an impression on his seasonal debut earlier this month.
In the Free Racing Post Form At totepool.com Classified Stakes at Thirsk, Dark Falcon finished fourth behind Fairway To Heaven. An embarrassing start to the season would have shaken his confidence terribly, thus it is dangerous
to expect a thumping performance from him.
One More Roman has two back-to-back wins under his belt, but a change in the class will put him under pressure. Strathnaver was last seen at Newmarket, where she suffered a terrible defeat.
In-form One More Roman can be a threat to Delft. The latter will be able to notch up the first position quite easily, if she manages to outpace One More Roman in the early stages of the race. Good luck to everyone.
