Delhi Daredevils coach Greg Shipperd hopeful of back-to-back wins in the League – IPL news
Delhi Daredevils will be looking forward to back-to-back victories at home when they face Royal Challengers Bangalore in an Indian Premier League match at the Feroz Shah Kotla in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 on Tuesday.
The Daredevils won their second game of the ongoing season of the lucrative Twenty20 League when they defeated Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Greg-Shipperd-c1507 was hopeful the side will keep going in the same vein.
“We hope to take the momentum to tomorrow's game and secure back-to-back wins,” said Shipperd while talking to the media on the eve of his team’s match with RCB.
Daredevils, who have a new-look side this year, are struggling in all three departments of the game. With a win-loss ratio of 2-3 in five games, the Daredevils have only four points in their account and stand at the bottom of the points
table just above Deccan Chargers who have four points from six games.
The Delhi coach has his hopes attached with the belligerent opening duo of skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virender-Sehwag-c95429 and hard-hitting Australia batsman David Warner. He was hopeful the openers would once again give them a fiery start.
“Every side relies on its top order as they are the ones who play the maximum overs and get to bat in the powerplay. When big names do well, things are bound to go well,” said Shipperd.
Some star performers of the Daredevils from the previous IPL editions are part of Royal Challengers Bangalore this time. These include former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 all-rounder
Tillakaratne Dilshan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 bowler Dirk Nannes. Shipperd said that it would be like “old Delhi playing against new Delhi” adding that they are trying to do the best with their new people.
“Half of the RCB side played for Delhi in the first three seasons. It's like old Delhi playing against new Delhi,” said the Delhi coach. “They were our valued players and we tried to keep them in the auction but couldn't afford them. But
we have embraced our new people.”
