UT Yadav from Delhi was named as the Player of the Match for taking three wickets in four overs to restrict Punjab on a modest total of 136 runs.
With this win, the side has bagged 20 points in total from winning ten games out of the 14 they have played.
With Punjab’s two games still remaining, the side still has a chance of making it into the play-offs, but cannot afford to lose any more.
Chennai Super Kings’ skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, has admitted that his team needs to improve its batting in the middle overs, to win games from here on.
"It's very difficult in a game like this. We began strong with a solid partnership between Hussey and Vijay but did not bat well in middle overs. That is something we have to learn. But for Bravo's last ball six we would have lost the match," Dhoni said.
Chennai are currently at fourth place on the points table, and could be toppled if they lose another match which would lead to losing their title as they are the defending champions this season.
