Delhi State Badminton Championship: Shradda Srivastva wins Women’s Singles crown with elegance
Shradda Srivastva, a budding young shuttler from India, put up staggering performance on court as she won the Women’s Singles crown after beating her country-mate Shambavi Bajaj in the title match of the Yonex Sunrise Hot Weather Delhi State Badminton Championship

The third seeded Shradda, who remained impressive throughout the tournament, continued her winning streak and overpowered her lower ranked opponent Shambavi who was seeded at number seven in the Women’s Singles draw of the event.
The higher ranked Shradda was in smashing form on court as she played impressive badminton in the whole contest and easily grabbed the title by ending up the title with a stunning difference on score board.
On the other hand, the seventh seeded Shambavi failed to put up strong show as she was helpless against the power play of her rival and lost the final encounter in straight games without putting up strong resistance.
The in-form Shradda showed her brilliance on court from opening rallies and dominated the pace with her impressive attacking shots.
Shambavi, in the meanwhile, could not stop the aggression of Shradda and remained struggling to take the bird timely.
Shradda was focused on court and she took a superb lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, the higher ranked Shradda continued her positive play while pushing her challenger in all corners. She sailed smoothly in the entire opening set and grabbed it with an amazing score of 21-8.
In the following set, Shambavi played slightly fast game in opening rallies but failed to live up to expectations as her higher ranked opponent was in good control of rallies.
The spirited Shradda played to her maximum potential and again set up a smashing lead until the break.
Shradda continued showing her aggression by keeping the pace high and did not let Shambavi to narrow the gap on score board.
The in-form Shradda remained positive in her tactical play and eventually bagged the title with a huge 21-10 score on the board.
The talented Shradda won the title after finishing off the final battle in a lopsided fashion by a remarkable difference of 21-8 and 21-10.
