Delhi State Badminton Championship: Yash Nain beats Tushar Aggrawal to win Boy’s Singles U19 title
India’s impressive young player Yash Nain stole the limelight as he clinched Boy’s Singles U19 title after thrashing his compatriot Tushar Aggrawal in the final match of the Yonex Sunrise Hot Weather Delhi State Badminton Championship 2012 at Delhi, India, on Wednesday, July 18.
The number five seed Yash, who has been impressive in all of his battles in the tournament, continued his attacking skills on court in the title battle and easily overpowered Tushar who was the sixth seed in the event.
The in-form Yash was impressive in his technical and tactical play as he dominated the pace of rallies for most of the time in the whole competition and defeated his rival in straight games with a decent margin on the board.
The sixth seeded Tushar, on the other hand, failed to put up staggering performance in the final battle of the event as he failed to create pressure on his higher ranked opponent and lost to him in straight sets with a reasonable score.
In the opening rallies of first game, both shuttlers entertained the local fans with their aggressive skills. They kept the pace high and employed their attacking skills to take advantage on score board.
However, no one could get a strong position until the mid-game interval in the first game.
After the one-minute break, Yash played positive and fast badminton and forced his rival to commit unforced errors. He remained on track in the ending points and took the first game with a five-point difference of 21-16.
The second set was thrilling as both youngsters played attacking badminton while remaining positive on court. They were focused in the game and remained quite close on board until the break.
After the interval, it was Yash who took a reasonable lead by playing smart game at net. He was incredible in his fast and smooth movement on court and remained successful in snatching the second game with a decent 21-18 score on the board.
The fifth seeded Yash grabbed the Boy’s Singles title with grace by ending up the final battle in two sets with a remarkable difference of 21-16 and 21-18.
