Maharashtra 196 and 266 v Delhi 193 and 273 - Delhi won by 7 wickets
Delhi grabbed a seven-wicket win against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780.
This wicket turned better and better for batting with each passing day, as on the final day, it were the batsmen from Delhi who won the game for their side by chasing down a nifty target of 270 runs.
Fans first saw Maharashtra pile 196 in the first innings, followed by a score of 193 by Delhi. Looking at their first performances with the bat, the game was controlled by the bowlers, however, by the middle of the third day of play, the batsmen had gained momentum as Maharashtra ended the day with 266, giving their opponents a reasonable target to run after.
Delhi, had the worst possible start to their second innings, losing their first wicket with only five runs on the board, as U Chand had his stumps shattered all over the place with just two runs to his name.
While http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Dhawan-c2392 was then joined by Mohit Sharma, it was imperative for Maharashtra to continue the bowling onslaught in order to grab a couple of more wickets to twist Delhi’s arm a bit more.
However, the batting duo had other plans for the fielding side, as they launched a blatant offense by smacking the bowlers all around the park, keeping the fielders on their toes.
The way the two batsmen batted, they had succeeded in crippling the bowlers, however, Fallah broke the shackles as he trapped Sharma in front of stumps, forcing the batsman to walk off the field after belting 51 runs.
M Manhas then prevented the bowling side from making a comeback, as he forged an intimidating partnership alongside his opener, leading the side to 182 before he was picked up by Mundhe after jabbing 51 runs.
Skipper S Dhawan, was instrumental in his side’s victory with his unbeaten knock of 116, as Delhi won the match for the loss of three wickets in 65.3 overs.
