The third day of the four-day game began with Tamil Nadu resuming their first innings from an overnight tally of 31 for one. From the way things looked the game was in the balance, however, the Tamils had no idea that they were about to get the beating of a lifetime by their opposition.

VY Mahesh then smacked 23 while the tail enders failed to give a show as their side was forced to a follow-on.
From Delhi, P Awana was phenomenal with four wickets to his name, while he was backed by P Suyal, who nabbed three batsmen.
