Tamil, however, had a great start to the day when they amassed an opening stand of 101 before Delhi grabbed their first wicket on the demise of A Mukund, who perished after playing a steady innings of 38 runs.
B Aparajith was unimpressive as he fell with only nine runs to his name at a time when his side was standing on 117.
