  1. this is not a good experience though but i advice you take it to god in prayer.god will help out.try and pet him and do not always refuse him.dont scold, get angry fade up.it is well with him.learn to pray for him please and believe god.

  2. My lil guy did this. he will stop. When he passes out... and comes back to *life* dont give him what he wants. Just tell him that he is not getting it. I only had to do this ONE time... when he came back to he ask me for it again and I told him No... he started to try to hold again and I threw the item in the trash while he watched. he never did this again. I would ask the dr about it. But it is a normal thing.

  3. yeah my son did it too....he used to really worry us until we got used to it. in fact he did it so often that it just became 'one of those things' to us. he did it outside my older sons school once and i just laid him on the pavement on his side and waited for him to come round again lol. everyone thought i was a bit mental not worrying about my son not breathing, but i knew that he was always ok afterwards.

the best thing to do is to be casual about it. don't give him any extra attention after the incident (just make sure he is in a safe area and lie him on his side whilst he's doing it), and he will out grow it eventually.

    good luck x*x

  4. It's an attention seeking behavior--you just need to ignore him and walk away. When he doesn't get attention for the behavior, he'll stop it. He passes out to start breathing again--that's the body's natural response. He can't harm himself by doing it.

  5. its an attention thing. when he does it try blowing in his face, it should make him gasp and breath again

  6. My brother did that as a child. The doctors told my mother it was perfectly normal and to ignore it. He outgrew it around age 4.

  7. I had a breath holder! It was awful. Everyone would scream, "BREATH! BREATH!" and she just flat out refused. It's comical when I look back on that. she did it all through the age of 2. She never actually passed out completely, but she has fell back and laid there trying to catch her breath. It was horrible at the time.

    Your son will outgrow it.

  8. thats weird   maybe he's mental

  9. my daughter never did that but my sister's daughter did......it is fairly common in kids I think......it's a way of getting attention.....and kids are smart..if it works once...and they get their own way as a panicked parent does anything to get them to breathe of course they will use it again...not that you did that....the freaking out is enough to make them continue the behavior...my sister used to have to hold her daughter above the bed(or couch)...(NOT high off the furniture) and just drop her(even an inch or so above the bed will make them suck in a breath as they "fall" and start breathing again...you have to shock them out of holding their breath...distract them from it with something...either blowing in their face....a loud noise...a SMALL drop onto bed etc etc
