The Viola head coach has told his team to play the best football they can and further stated that they need to play without any pressure and continue the momentum.
The Artemio Franchi outfit have recently found a much needed in the Serie A, and staying unbeaten in their next match would mean that they would have gone four matches without
a loss. This would also be their best unbeaten streak for the season.
Fiorentina have been embroiled in the relegation battle, owing to their poor campaign this season, and Rossi is hopeful that they can put the woes of this season behind
them in their attempts to stay afloat in the Serie A.
The Gigliati manager has emphasised on the areas where he feels work needs to be done and has asked his team to implement his ideas on the field of play. Rossi was giving
his pre-match interview and during the news conference he stated that all his focus was on Fiorentina. He further stated that he wanted his men to play without any pressure on their shoulders and replicate their recent performances.
He also stated that there is no point in bogging yourself down with mathematical calculations on the possibilities of staying up, what needed to be done was on the field.
He stated that apprehensive style of play was never helpful and remarked:
“Tomorrow I want to see a team with a freedom of mind that will play in the same spirit shown in this recent period. We cannot do calculations for survival, we have to forge
our destiny on the pitch. You have seen that we have picked up results in games that we were previously fearful of and not in others we had considered to be easier.”
He further reflected on the selections he will be making for the match and stated that he would be looking at each individual upon selection and mentioned:
“We just need to give our best. [Team selection] will take into account the general condition of the players, not just how they have trained. There are players who have
given so much and may have problems, whilst others may be freer in the mind.”
Viola takes on the Giallorossi in their week 33 match of the Serie A.
