The Fiorentina manager has given his backing to the under-fire AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 defender, stressing that it is just a little blip in form and he will come back stronger.
Simon Kjaer has come under heavy criticism for making critical mistakes in his performances of late.
Kjaer joined the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 on a loan spell from German club, Wolfsburg, in the summer transfer window. However, the Dane has had to contend with a fair share of problems.
The defender has had issues adapting to life in Rome, and has struggled to find his best form. Having witnessed the slump in the centre-back’s form, the Viola tactician still maintains that the Dane has the
quality. Rossi coached Kjaer during his stint with Palermo, and remarked on his abilities by saying:
“He’s the best defender that I have ever coached. He has exceptional qualities and he’s unbeatable in one-on-one situations.”
There has been increasing amount of speculation suggesting that the Giallorossi defender’s loan move will not be made permanent by the Roma management. There are only 12 matches remaining in the Serie A season,
and his performances in the remaining part of the season will determine his future.
The former Palermo boss went on to state that every player goes through a bad patch in his career. However, that does not reflect that the player does not cut it at top-level football. Rossi was full of praise
for his former defender, and listed his qualities, stating:
“You can have bad seasons, but the player can’t be doubted because he is an element who offers guarantees. He has quality, he’s flexible and, importantly, he’s on first name terms with the ball.”
Recent media reports suggested that there is a rift between Kjaer and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniele-De-Rossi-c10112, and speculation intensified after the duo was dropped from the squad for week 25 clash against Atalanta.
Luis Enrique will be hoping that the defender regains his form, as the Giallorossi have been leaking a lot of goals of late.
Kjaer has played 11 games for the Giallorossi this season, and has picked up a couple of red cards.
