The Stadio Franchi outfit’s head coach called out to the club fans to show their support to the team, and stated that the players were scared to play at home.
Fiorentina have seen themselves embroiled in a relegation battle after having a severe dip in form during the second-half of the season. They are now sitting in the 15th position of the Serie A,
with 36 points. Their victory over AC Milan propelled them from the 17th into the 15th position. They are now three points adrift of the 10th place in the league.
Rossi realises this and has urged his team to give their heart and soul into the remainder of the season to salvage some pride for the Artemio Franchi outfit. However, despite urging his men to perform to the
maximum of their abilities, Delio Rossi has asked the fans to show their support in Viola’s time of need.
He is of the opinion that the Tuscan club entails hostility which brings the morale of his men down. Correction of this sentiment with their fan’s support would lead to better performances by his men. He was
of the opinion that even their last minute victory over reigning Italian Champions, AC Milan, was not enough to maximise his outfit’s morale.
The former Atalanta manager was reflective of this in his statement to the press and stated:
“Our performance in Milan has to make people reflect on the true capabilities of Fiorentina. We need consistency and to confirm those performances, though, so it is better not to think we’ve resolved all our
problems.”
While remarking on the fan’s importance to Fiorentina, Rossi stated:
“I expect the fans to support Fiorentina, as they must help us. One thing is for certain, we are not afraid of our fans. We’ve got to take the initiative against Palermo, as going on the counter the way we
did at San Siro is a limited approach. We can do it when needed, but not all the time.”
La Viola need to register a victory so that they ease the relegation pressure on themselves.
