The former Fiorentina manager believes that he has the skills and the experience to coach a national team, and urged people to stop judging him on the single incident.
Delio Rossi has stressed that he has the qualities and skills to coach a national side, and has stated that he would love to replace Cesare Prandelli at the helm of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926.
The former Fiorentina manager was sacked by the Viola, after punching http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adem-Ljajic-c3612 in the face during a Serie A game.
The tactician is currently out of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 and stated that he will not mind taking on the managerial post for a national team.
Rossi praised himself stating that he has the necessary skills and the experience to handle the challenges of a national team, and insisted that he would love to have a future in international football.
When asked if he would be willing to replace Cesare Prandelli after the Euros, the former Fiorentina coach did not rule out the possibility.
However, the ex-Viola tactician was quick to point out that he has sent no such application for the Azzurri job, but maintained that he feels good about the idea.
While talking to Sky Sport Italia, the 51-year-old said:
“I believe that I have the experience necessary to think about a future with a nation. Could I succeed Cesare Prandelli with Italy? Never say never, but I want to make it clear that I haven’t put myself forward for that.”
Rossi went on to reflect on the touchline brawl with Ljajic, an insistence that got him fired from his position at Fiorentina.
The former Palermo manager stressed that it will be unfair on part of people to judge him on a single incident, when he has a career full of performances behind him.
The ex-Lazio tactician went on to add that he has admitted his shame on the aggression, and apologised to everyone in the team as well as Ljajic himself.
“A lot of people judged me for that without knowing what happened. I said sorry to everyone, including the boy. I’m now ready to start again."
Rossi concluded by stating that what is done is done, and he wants to move to the future instead of getting bogged down by the dismal events of the past.
