  1. The only part hurts when pushing is when the baby's head crowns (which is when bit of head is coming out) It stings a bit ,  you have to pant and listen to midwife when to stop pushing etc as this is the part where you can tear, you feel alot of pressure kinda like you want to go to the toliet feeling (for a p**p sorry but thats true).  once the head is out the rest doesnt hurt really.

  2. I had a vaginal delivery with an epidural and it didn't hurt.  There was no pain, only an intense pressure when it came time to push.

  3. I had an epidural and I didn't feel a thing. The contractions before the epidural had me just about blind with pain, though. Good luck:)

  4. it is not roses and daisies but it is do able and once your baby is in your arms it is all forgotten.

  5. yes, but the recovery is much easier and less painful and less dangerous to mom and baby than a c-section.

  6. Yes it does but but the end results is worth the pain.

  7. It honestly burned for me more than anything. But it's better for the baby than a c-section. they push out more fluid that way, and it's a shorter recovery time for mommy. I also thought the experience of pushing and my husband coaching was really rewarding and special.

  8. Yeah, of course, you're "PUSHING"  a baby out of your v****a.

  9. Not if you have an epidural!!!  ;)

  10. I have had 3 natural childbirths an yep it really hurts, probably the worst pain you will ever feel.

The contraction are the killers, when it comes time to push your just relived that it's nearly over and when you get the urge to push it's kind of a relief that your pushing

  11. Yes it does hurt but by the time your at level to start pushing you really want to push.. Usually 1-3 pushes and the baby is out. Good luck and remember to do your breathing and relax. If you are tense it will hurt more.

  12. I had both of my kids naturally. It did not feel good, but I felt very empowered by my ability to delivery naturally.

Yes, it hurts. Alot. However, I had meningits as a teenageer, so I was able to handle it. It was not nearly as bad as that!

The actual getting the kid through the "opening" is not the hardest part. It's transistion that can make you crazy. I would reccomend taking a childbirth class so you will know you options.

  13. It sucks so bad. I got and epidural but it stopped working and I had to deliver naturally. I had an epi AND tore also... I felt it rip. The worst part was the entire thing. I am looking at my little baby right now and I have to say all that pain was well worth it. You will feel the same way too.

  14. I had an epidural so no it didnt hurt.

The contractions did hurt (very bad in fact) before I got the epidural.

  15. I had an epidural that they had to turn down twice bc I couldn't feel anything..I thought I was pushing and wasn't so I'd say no with an epidural. I was sore afterwards but that's bc of the episiotomy.

  16. i havent gotten to this stage of my pregnancy yet...but from what i HEAR the contractions hurt waaaaay worse. the pushing is actually a feeling of relief. i mean dont get me wrong women still say it hurts but in comparison to the contractions its not as bad

  17. I delivered my son last October naturally, meaning, it was a vaginal delivery, and I didn't use any sort of pain medication.

I thought that pushing was a tremendous RELIEF!  It wasn't painless, but it felt so much better than those contractions, and it helped relieve all the pressure I felt from my son's head being right there.

I would do it all over again in a heartbeat by the way!  It was an amazing experience!

    By the way...

Childbirth is NOT something to be feared.  I worked as a L&D nurse prior to giving birth to my son, so I'm very familiar with all the pain management options available, and I chose NONE of them because of the risks.  Doctors will tell you there are no risks, but that is a lie.  Why do you think the c-section rate in this country is about 33%?    Our bodies are designed to give birth, and it is very possible to do it without an epidural

  18. i gave birth to my last baby standing up.so gravity was working with me. the urge to push is usually so great that you dont even have time to think about the pain. labor does hurt worse.

  19. I pushed and it didnt hurt bc I had an epidural; but it was just tiring like a huge work out. I shouldve eaten more that day but couldnt cause I was in too mucb pain from contractions, but it affected my energy being able to push. i didnt even feel my daughter come out of me bc of the epidural.
