I know this might sound weird but i just had to ask.... What should i be eating to make my unborn baby gain weight? I want to have a big, fat baby but i know eating alot will just make me gain weight! When i was born i weigh 8 LBS 6 oz.. but my fiance was 6 Lbs and 24" long at birth.... how do some people have 10 LB babies?

  1. Genetics. . .I do not believe there is any way that you can make a baby big.

  2. I just ate well.  Did not eat any caffeine, limited my sweets, hardly no junk foods... just things like meats, whole grains, fruits, and veges.  I took my prenatal vitamins.

My babies were eight pounds one ounce, nine pounds nine ounces, and nine pounds five ounces...

  3. Just eat healthy and take you vitamins.

  4. Why would you WANT a 10 pound baby?  While low birth weight babies are at increased risk for problems, there is no benefit to having a 10 pounder rather than a 6 or 8 pounder -- and there is actually more risk, since you'd be more likely to need a c-section -- and c-sections are more dangerous for mother and baby.

There is nothing you can eat that will make you have a 10 pound baby. Eat a healthy diet, and trust nature to 'grow' a baby the appropriate size for you.

  5. I have to agree with genetics.  All you can do is eat healthy, take your prenatal vitamins and work towards having a healthy baby, regardless of weight.
