Dell 6400 6/9 Cell Battery?

I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 9 Cell Battery and for the last few months I have experienced problems with my battery, I have received the battery replacement message and I am currently just using my laptop whilst being plugged in all the time.

I checked the Dell website and for a 6 cell its about £150 and 9 Cell for £180. Where can I get an official Dell Battery either 6 or 9 cell for a reasonable price like even £80?

I have looked at eBay and they have some for about £50, but I don't know whether they are Chinese knock-offs, comments say they work well, but after a few months (if they are fake dell batteries) they run the risk of exploding.

You can't. Sorry. I tried even looking for a battery for my 5 year old laptop (of which the makers are now bankrupt) and that even came out at £120.

Don't trust eBay for things like this. The batteries may be old and only holding half charge. I would not put anything on eBay without making some sort of profit.

If it is no incovienience to you, I suggest just running the laptop off mains power for now.

ive tried the batteries on ebay and they didnt work when i used it.
