Hi i recently moved home. My dell inspiron computer did not have a built in wireless connectivity. so i have been using this Netgear PCI card (? the ones that are like a thick creidt card size and u slide in the side of ur laptop) for the last three years with different wireless routers with no problem. But this time the SpeedTouch router connects with this laptop. But in the connection properties it shows 'packets received'= zero while 'packets sent' goes up with time. my laptop recognises the router, and the connectivity icon at the bottom right corner of the screen is green and everything. but it just wont connect to the internet while other computers are doing fine at the same time under the same router.

I found out that the router does not assign any IP, DNS, WINS or Default Gateway numbers to my laptop, while apparently it does to other computers in the network. I have tried to copy those numbers and manually input in my laptop, (of course changing the last bit of the IP with an arbitrary number) but nothings working.

WEP security is enabled and it takes in the password without any error message.

Any help would be much appreciated.
