Dell xps m1330 SIM CARD SLOT?

i have a dell xps m1330. i removed the battery for the first time to clean it and i was surprised to find a SLOT. first glance and it looked like one of those SIM CARD slots on a cellphone. i went to dell support and they said it was for some kind of mini broadband card. but its not. i put my simcard in it and it fit perfectly. i just want to know what the slot is for. can you guys help

  1. Yup it is a sim card slot, its underneath the battery bay. I'm not sure whether there is a software for it, but i guess you can backup your contacts on the sim and may be even send sms! check out he manaul for your model from the below link
