Delonte West’s job hunt comes to an end – NBA News
Delonte West has often succeeded in becoming part of headlines throughout his career. It is not because of his game or on court excellence that the 6 ft 3 in shooting guard has done so, but for the stunts, he has managed to pull
off the court consistently.
Delonte has been busy this summer despite the lockout. While many players have been bent to pursue overseas opportunities in order to make some money, Delonte has kept himself busy looking for jobs as he is not allowed to go overseas
and play there.
Last Wednesday, West tweeted he is carrying on with thorough job hunt and will be applying for a position at some furniture showroom in Maryland. Then later that day he again tweeted that he got the job.
It seems Delonte was really looking forward to getting this job and tweeted a picture of his application form too. West did not hesitate in disclosing that he has been once convicted of a crime. But in the part of form where details
were asked, he just wrote it was all a result of a misunderstanding.
The 28 year old guard started his career with Boston Celtics and made his debut in 2005-2006 as a point guard. However, injuries never allowed him to settle and he missed most of the matches in season. He was later traded to Seattle
Supersonics where he again failed to impress because of his mediocre show.
It was after 2009 that he started gaining fame. But unfortunately for him, the fame was negative. On September 17, 2009, he was found with a 9mm Beretta pistol, and a Remington 870 in his guitar case when West was pulled over for
a traffic violation riding a three wheeled motorcycle. West was arrested and dragged to court. Proven guilty after the delayed trial, West was sentenced to probation, electronic monitoring and some 40 hours of community service.
Then in May 2010, West was all over the headlines when rumors relating to Delonte’s affair with LeBron James mother surfaced courtesy of Basketball Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy who is no stranger to bizarreness himself.
