Delta Airlines – what can you say about the timeliness of their departures & arrivals?

I will fly on Sept. 16 from Dayton to San Francisco using Delta Airlines. The schedule says I will leave Dayton at 3:40 in the afternoon and arrive at San Francisco at 9:16 in the evening. There will be a 1 hour 50 minutes layover in Atlanta. Is that enough time?

I have a flight out of San Francisco at 1:20 in the morning of the 17th. That gives me about 4 hours allowance before my flight out of San Francisco. Is Delta Airline usually on time or are they usually delayed? What’s your experience with them when it comes to timely departure/arrival? I just want to know if I have enough time to cover just in case.

  1. Like the guy above me said, Delta sucks.  They canceled my daughters connecting flight out of Atlanta, GA and said due the weather in New York, planes could not land in LaGuardia.  There was little rain here.  Checked LaGuarda and American Airlines had no problem.  They made my daughter pay for her hotel because the next available flight wasn't until the next day.  And get this, my daughter called me upset because it was her first time flying alone (she's 18) and all the employees she spoke to at Delta were rude.

Make sure you continually check the flight status on-line since you have already booked your flight.
