Delwood Robbo to rob victory at Henlow - Standard Dup Preview
Delwood Robbo looks to be solid enough to seal a glorious success in March Standard Dup Open Race of 460m Flat Distance at Henlow racecourse on Thursday night, March 8.
S. Fletcher’s blue dog is geared up to run against Westmead Shaw, Blackrose Bullet, Aherlow Shaw, Doctor Robert and Leos Options.
The £150 high-voltage contest will start at 22:03 (GMT). All the hounds are ready for the mega marathon.
At this stage, Delwood Robbo looks to be in the most favourable position to stand victorious in the race. The five-year-old veteran runner accomplished a marvellous hat-trick during the first two months of the calendar year.
Prior to this, the son of Go Wild Teddy out of Whitefort Tess had won five races during October-December 2011.
As a whole, the dashing dog has been a consistent performer and winner since the very beginning of his career. For last six months, he has been at the peak of his form.
Delwood Robbo is likely to show a big run tonight and notch up the top spot. His chances to win are as high as 90 percent.
However, two of the talented dog’s opponents named as Westmead Shaw and Aherlow Shaw can impede his way towards victory as both these runners are somewhat solid.
Westmead Shaw registered a magnificent hat-trick during October-November 2011. The N. Savva-trained black dog bagged his last triumph on January 24, 2012.
Overall, the son of Ballymac Maeve out of Westmead Swift has been a maverick performer throughout his career.
Aherlow Shaw has achieved three victories since the dawn of the calendar year. In his last outing and first ever at Henlow track on March 1, 2012, the black dog finished first convincingly with a huge margin of 3 ¼ lengths. He will too show a decent performance
tonight.
By and large, the Henlow course will witness a rip-roaring clash tonight. Delwood Robbo will have to fight to his utmost in order to stand first. Good luck to the dog.
