  1. Yes feed him a little before you leave, and then pick up your son, if he is still crying then just pull over and give him a few more slurps until you get home.  I know its hard...but what can we do.

  2. Try feeding him, at least a little something before going on car trips.

If you have your other children with you, get them to help. If you breast feed, always express some of your milk for times like these. There are great products on the market now, like the baggies for freezing the breast milk.

If he refuses to eat a little something before leaving and you are going on a short trip, don't worry, it will not harm him to cry a little and wait a short period of time.

    Good Luck

  3. GET A SCHEDULE!! Im sure you already have one.. but a strict schedule has always helped me.. I survived 3 kids with a schedule.. two at home with me while one in school.. they have to get used to this is feeding time.. this is nap time.. all of that.. it may take a few days of bad trips to the store or picking up the kids.. but in the long run its worth it..

    SCHEDULE SCHEDULE SCHEDULE

  4. I do the on demand thing too for my 4 week old, but that doesn't mean I don't wake his cute tushy up and see if he'll eat if I have to be somewhere!  Just feed him before you leave.

9 out of 10 times he will eat something then go back to sleep, he's only 3 weeks old too so he'll pretty much go with the flow.  On demand is very good, but that doesn't mean that you have to rearrange you entire life until he's 2 years old especially with two other kids who need your attention.

  5. Sounds cruel, but he will not die or even get hurt in the time it takes u to pick up your kid!!  Just try to feed him before u go.

  6. try feeding him a couple oz before you leave

  7. Can you feed the baby right before you leave?  Or does the baby take a bottle?  Can you pump and then enlist the help of your 4 year old in the car by letting them hold the bottle for the baby?

  8. Why not try and offer a feeding before you leave? If he refuses chances are you'll have enough time to pick your 7 year old up and get home before the lil one wants to eat.

  9. Use this formula:

Feed your baby/ keep baby awake for a little while/let baby sleep/feed your baby/keep baby awake/let baby sleep

This gets your baby on a schedule and eventually the baby will sleep through the night longer periods because baby is on a schedule.  Do this schedule to the best of your ability.  YOu will never have to guess if that baby is hungry. Baby should be eating every 3-4 hours with this formula.  If baby cries before the 3-4 hours, give baby a pacifier.

  10. Try feeding him before you leave the house.  I don't really know what else to tell you, but if your trip is short, it's not like he's going to starve in a short amount of time.  If you feed him before you leave, then you'll know that he should be set for a small amount of time.

  11. Try to leave 10-20 minutes earlier. Offer to feed him right before you leave. Then when you get to the school you can offer again.

It's hard with a baby, especially when they are so young. Don't fret if he starts crying. He's not starving if you offered to feed him before you left the house. He's just crying because he's in the car and he wants his momma.

I have always fed my daughter on demand and I never encouraged bedtime or anything like that. At 10 weeks she started sleeping through the night and developed her own schedule:

    7:30    wake and eat

    8:30    eat and nap

    10:30  wake and eat

    12:30  eat and nap

    2:30    wake and eat

5:30    eat and play with daddy

7:30    eat and sleep for the night

    3:30am eat and sleep

It will get better.. if your baby takes a pacifier you can have your 4 year old help you keep it in her mouth too.. that might make the ride a little easier.

  12. Top the baby off before you leave :)  Simple as that.

Don't starve your baby, don't force him on a schedule.  Just give him a little snack to hold him over while you go to pick up the other little ones.

  13. You just have to hope that they dont need to be fed right then. Try to feed before you have to leave, they usually will suck on a bottle or nipple even if they are sleeping, and get them on a scheduale ASAP. If they end up needing a feeding while your out you might just have to let them cry until you get home and make sure food is ready when you get there.
