Demanding respect from these people?

I am a religious education teacher in my church on saturdays. I need a book to teach from and the principal/her team is supposed to provide that to me. It's the third week and I'm the only teacher that hasnt recieved it. I have a government seminar for college this saturday and the leader (despite knowing I have no book) basically said that:

1.) I have to choose between school and this

2.) I need to submitt the lesson plan by tommorow so she can find a substitute.

I feel this is disrespectul, because I am not getting as much help and support as the other first-time teachers. I dont understand how to deal with this powerfully without getting thrown out:(

  1. people would say feelings are isn't right at all, you are a teacher, and you've studied about behaviors(psychology) and mostly you taught christianity.reasons that you should not think negatives.....

if you will based always on your feelings, you might not discover the greatness in your situation "CHALLENGE".don't demand respect, you could ask but not to demand and show them your christian way to be respected.

if u have no book, then whats the purpose of the library, make some research.another option, your school is not the only school who have that kind of lesson, isn't not?then why not make friends from other school teacher having the same lesson and ask. but then,if that book is exclusively just your school have, you should talk to the principal and stand on your right.show them that you are dedicated. and in addition to help you out, PRAY, asked for guidance on how to deal with this! hope this can help!

    May you be Blessed!

  2. I would choose school any day.

  3. You would get more respect if you taught something of real value that can be applied in the real world. Like Science....

  4. Maybe they just don't like you and are sending signals that it's time to quit.

You go to church on a Saturday?  Isn't it bad enough that you already ruin one day of the weekend and now you want to ruin both?

  5. OK look, you have a commitment that you feel can't be achieved do to a lack of tools and the support to get them. Fine...Improvise, don't waste your time on counting your excuses. That's not were the solution lies. It's one day, use your knowledge of the subject and write a lesson plan. Perfection may not be achieved but as the old saying goes "The only thing between a success and a failure is a try" As for dealing with this powerfully, sit back and honestly ascertain whether or not working under this type of support system is in your best interest. Your power lies in your participation to begin with. Good luck.

By the way...how is it your demanding respect being the newest member of the staff? You haven't been there long enough to earn it have you?

  6. Fiction, such as religion, is not "taught". If you think religion is somehow true, school is the choice you *need* to make.
