Demarlo Hale likely to join Toronto Blue Jays as bench coach – MLB Update
Toronto Blue Jays are making the right moves this offseason. They recently initiated one of the biggest Major League trades which have suddenly made their roster stronger than ever.
Now they are trying to add an experienced coach to ensure their consistent results for next Major League Baseball season.
Several reports are coming as former Baltimore Orioles’ third-base coach Demarlo Hale is expected to sign with the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays have already put John Gibbons in front seat as team manager. His role as new manager is already creating big noise in the League. With his experience and managing skills, Gibbons is likely to give his team a real boost.
“This came as a big surprise to me, I never would have guessed when this came up. Ever since I left five years ago I’ve been following the team, because I have a lot of friends here that I care about and I’m always rooting for this organization that gave me my first shot to be a big-league coach and a big-league manager. Especially lately, I’ve been kind of following the manager search. You guys (the media) were way off. You guys were as far off as I was,” Gibbons said after becoming Blue Jays' manager.
Regarding Hale, who will join Gibbons’ staff as bench coach, was earlier shortlisted as Blue Jays’ new manager.
Hale is a former professional baseball player and possesses large Major League experience. His arrival in the Blue Jays will ensure some consistent results next season.
Last season the Blue Jays’ performed real poor and that weak performance brought them big disappointment.
However, as soon as the season ended, the Blue Jays started to rebuild their team. First they were involved in a mega trade with the Miami Marlins.
That trade is now considered one of the biggest trades in the league. Marlins sent their three top players to Blue Jays and received some good prospects.
Later the Blue Jays brought a new manager and now they will be bringing new bench-coach to give more stability to their roster.
In the past, Hale also worked in the Boston Red Sox franchise in Terry Francona’s coaching staff which also makes him a good choice for the Blue Jays’ bench coach job.
