Newcastle United forward, Demba Ba has gone on to brush aside the rumours liknking him with a move to Liverpool, as he plan on sticking around with the Magpies.
Liverpool had a very average season in the Premier League last season, with the poorest conversion rate of all the teams. They clearly needed firepower and depth up front. Recently, they’ve been linked with Newcastle striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812. However, the Senegalese
man has dismissed all transfer speculation linking him to Liverpool as merely rumours.
Reports claimed that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was in pursuit of the prolific Senegalese striker. English tabloids and journalists claimed that Rodgers was considering a £7million swoop for Ba as he looked to add some much needed firepower
to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 squad, which struggled in front of goal last season.
Despite having the likes of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, Liverpool failed to make an impression last season. The Merseyside club had also spent wads of cash on Charlie Adam and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102 to strengthen their midfield, but this plan had not worked
to their advantage.
Ba had established himself as a first team regular since he arrived from West Ham on a free transfer. Nonetheless, with the arrival of Papiss Demba Cisse in the January transfer window from Freiburg, Ba had fallen out of favour. He lost the goal scoring
form that had made him the talk of every football pundit and fan alike, and was forced to play in a supporting role and often moved to the right side in attack, which was obviously not his comfort zone.
Many believed the player would move to French outfit PSG in the summers, while recently, a move to Liverpool also looked likely to be on the cards.
The Senegalese striker took to Twitter recently and dismissed all sorts of transfer speculation as rumours.
“Holla back everybody. So much stuff about me lately. Rumours are rumours! Just forget about it. By the way I had the best holiday ever!!”
Despite having brushed aside all transfer talk, there are still doubts over the player’s future. Tottenham and Turkish giants Galatasaray are also linked with the 27-year old striker, who has a clause in his contract which permits him to leave for a minimum
fee of £7million.
Currently, Ba is expected to represent his nation in the London Olympics, alongside club strike partner Cisse.
