Newcastle United striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 has brushed aside rumours that linked the Senegalese striker with a move away from the Magpies, insisting that he is quite happy at the club and enjoys putting on a black and white jersey.
The 27-year old striker has been the subject of much transfer speculation linking him to clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and recently Galatasaray.
Ba has a £7 million release clause in his contract which states that the he can leave Newcastle at any point till the 1st of August, with some of the transfer fee going to the player. The buy-out clause can be activated at any time this month.
Last season, Ba had even publicly stated his desire to play for PSG, a club he grew up supporting as a young boy. With the arrival of compatriot Papiss Demba Cisse in the January transfer window last season, Ba was forced out wide, a position he was obviously
uncomfortable in.
These signs were telling of an imminent departure, and Newcastle fans were worried that they would lose out on their start striker. Ba had scored 16 goals in his first full season for the Magpies, and despite having seen his form fade after January, he was
still instrumental to the side’s performances in the league.
Newcastle flew out to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 a day ago for their pre-season friendly matches and Ba spoke to German media about all the transfer speculation.
“The fans see me on the pitch – that’s my message to them. In the papers, there’s been a lot of rubbish!”
“Like I said on Twitter, it’s just rumours. People talk, but what I can say is that none of the teams that have been talked about have approached me. I’m still a Newcastle player, and I enjoy putting on a black and white shirt.”
The Senegalese forward also spoke about his season with Newcastle and how he’s hoping to improve his goal tally for the Tyneside club.
“I don’t set targets, I just always try to do better than the season before,” he added.
“For the collective, it would be good if we could achieve something great. The most important is being in the Europa League, and doing something great in that competition.”
