Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has hinted at a possible winter transfer move away from Tyneside this season by calling Arsenal a ‘dream team’, fuelling speculation in the wake of Arsenal’s struggles and his contract clause.
With Arsenal’s need for a prolific striker, the media has picked up on Ba’s recent comments and given birth to a whole new transfer rumour. The January transfer window is fast approaching and Arsenal are understood to be ready to take an active part this
season.
The Gunners have experienced their worst start to a Premier League season under manager Arsene Wenger, and are currently 8th on the league table. The club recently let go of a number of star players over the past few season, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380
the latest to have departed.
Arsenal bought three players in the summer, and had a very solid start to their Premier League campaign. However, in the wake of injuries, the club started struggling and has slipped down from the top 4.
Their Capital One Cup exit against Bradford City was the latest blow this season, which led to increased pressure on the manager and the board to make funds available for buying players in the winter transfer window.
The Gunners have a solid midfield and a more than capable back-line, but it is up front where they are struggling. Summer signing Olivier Giroud has still not manager to kick-start his season and Arsenal cannot afford to wait around anymore.
The Frenchman had a slow start his career in an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 jersey, but did show spells of good form in the middle. However, Arsenal need a consistent and prolific forward who can make use of the excellent support play from Cazorla, Walcott, Wilshere etc.
This, Arsenal’s need for a striker is given. However, it remains to be seen just who is it that will arrive at the Emirates. Demba Ba has long been linked with a move with Arsenal, among other clubs, and it seems like a transfer will materialize in January
which could see the Senegalese come to the Emirates.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 recently spoke about Arsenal and said that a potential move to Arsenal is one of the things that ‘make you dream’. The striker said:
“Arsenal are one of these teams who make you dream. I have nothing to say about the speculation. Nothing is about to happen. The pres know Arsenal need another striker and also know about my release clause, and make their own mind about it.”
Ba has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave any club he is currently employed should it be activated and an interested party pays the said amount on his clause.
