New Tottenham signing Moussa Dembele is delighted to see his former Fulham teammate Clint Dempsey follow him to North London and is looking forward to playing alongside the American once again.
Both players arrived from Fulham in the last days of the transfer season, with Dempsey joining Tottenham in a last minute deal that surprised many.
The North London club had not been linked with the American player in any way, and made a last minute swoop for him. Dempsey had been strongly linked with a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, but Spurs beat them to the highly rated midfielder.
Tottenham have signed some quality players over the summer; Gylfi Sigurdsson, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408. However, Spurs are still yet to win a Premier League game this season.
New manager Andre Villas-Boas has immediately come under pressure after failing to win at home once against this past Saturday against Norwich. The Tottenham team was booed off the pitch, and there was a general sense of disarray and disgruntlement around
North London.
Dembele made his debut for Spurs that evening, and managed a very impressive performance as he scored on his debut. However, the Belgian was still unable to help guide his team to victory. Tottenham conceded late in the game and went on to share the spoils
with Norwich.
The Belgian midfielder was disappointed with the result, but has asked for patience and believes the team will get results soon. Dembele is delighted to be at the club and even more excited by the arrival of his former Fulham teammate Dempsey. The midfielder
believes that the American will help inject new life into the current Spurs side.
"Clint always is so dangerous," Dembele said.
"I sent him a message saying I was very happy because he is a fantastic player. He is a good boy so I am very happy that he is here.”
"He is so hungry to score goals. He fights a lot and it is fantastic to have him in the team.”
"He works as hard as two men so I'd prefer to have him in my team rather than play against him."
